The Workout Today is now Todayland

☀️ TLDR: The Workout Today is now Todayland - a weekly publication dedicated to the vital life. We are making this transition to more accurately reflect the true character of our vision and purpose. Dear readers, On January 1st, 2018, we launched The Workout Today...

Keep It Up

Today’s full body workout is a challenge to put in a strong effort even when your muscles are getting tired. This style of workout always brings the burn!

No Jumping Lower Body Burn

Today we’re doing a pyramid workout which will hit your lower body and core. We’re climbing up the pyramid and then back down today. No jumping, just intentional movements that will make you sweat. You got this!

Reps for Breakfast

Today, we’re prescribing exercises and a number of reps. You decide on how to get these reps done! Split them into sets or just plow straight through. The goal is to move quickly but smoothly, with good form. Remember to switch exercises if/when your form gets sloppy, and rest as needed.

Tap, Dip, Hold

Today, we’re doing an upper body and core workout in AMRAP* form. Move at a speed that challenges you, but without compromising on good form.

Exhale for Strength

Today’s workout is a lower body and core workout. Be sure to engage your glutes and core in every movement – keep your weight in your heels and take good breaths, engaging your core on the exhale.

Lunge > Push Up > Pigeon

Today’s workout is a full body and core workout. Move through this one at your own pace, keeping good form and energy up throughout! Rest as needed to make sure each movement is intentional.

Easier As You Go

Today we’re doing a descending pyramid workout that will challenge your whole body. Focus on moving deliberately throughout with good form. This workout gets easier as you go and the rounds get shorter – but you may notice that you’re more fatigued in each round, so don’t rush.

Super Legs

Today’s workout is a lower body and core workout, made up of “Supersets.” Supersets are pairs of exercises that are done back-to-back before moving on to the next pair of exercises.

How to Be Content

We first learned about "Self-Determination Theory" in Sebastian Junger's excellent book, Tribe. Self-Determination Theory holds that human beings need three basic things in order to be content: 1) We need to feel competent at what we do; 2) We need to feel authentic...

Speed and Form

Today, we’re doing an upper body and core workout in AMRAP* form. Move at a speed that gets your heart rate up, but without compromising on good form.

A great life is built from great todays.

Todayland is a plublication where we explore what makes a good life: ranging from the practical to the curiouse to the esoteric.
